Challenge
LabLearner, a hands-on science education program, faced several challenges:
- An outdated website that no longer effectively represented their innovative approach to science education.
- Lack of dedicated online portals for students and teachers to access digital educational resources.
- Need for a streamlined e-commerce solution to facilitate the purchase of LabLearner products.
Goal
The project aimed to:
- Refresh LabLearner’s online presence with a modern, user-friendly website.
- Develop separate, feature-rich online portals for students and teachers.
- Integrate a seamless e-commerce solution for easy product purchases.
- Enhance the overall digital learning experience for all users.
Approach
Website Redesign: Created a fresh, modern look for the LabLearner website with intuitive navigation for teachers, students, and parents.
Teacher Portal Development: Implemented LabLearnerPLUS+, an enhanced teacher portal with features such as remote learning accommodations, PreLab videos, online assessments, and extensive new background content.
Student Portal Creation: Developed an all-new student portal (LabLearnerPLUS+) offering access to PreLab videos, CELL background content, cognitive workouts, and digital lab protocols.
E-commerce Integration: Integrated Shopify to create an Online Store, allowing users to easily purchase LabLearner products and subscriptions.
User Authentication: Implemented an easy login system for direct access to teacher and student portals.
Content Enhancement: Added more background information, at-home activities, and deeper content to strengthen the LabLearner system.
Results
The digital transformation of LabLearner yielded significant positive outcomes:
